What company supplies the channels?
Direct TV offers an impressive array of music channels and uses SonicTap, so you can listen to music you enjoy the most!
Where are the XM music channels?
Effective February 9, 2010, Direct TV changed from XM/Sirius streaming music to SonicTap. This arrangement gives you more channels then the previous choices to listen to music.
How many music channels are are there?
At this time there are 84 SonicTap Music Channels if you subscribe to the Premier programing package. Keep in mind that you will get less channels with lower priced packages to listen to music.

Are the channels CD quality?
Yes! The channels are all CD quality so you can listen to music with high digital reliability.
Can I copy or download the songs?
Unfortunately no... But, if you have Direct TV equipment on different TV's in your home, you will be able to listen to the music!
Can I listen to them on my stereo or home audio system?
Definitely yes! You can hook up your satellite receiver to a stereo, audio system or surround sound system to take advantage of the music. When you get your equipment installed you can ask the installer to do this for you. Keep in mind that some installers will charge you to do this.
Is the music portable?
No. You must have a Direct TV satellite receiver to listen to the music.
Is SonicTap commercial free?
There are no commercial interruptions according to Direct TV's website.
